Ashtanga Yoga
"Ashtanga Yoga: Breathe, Flow, Transform."
Service Description
Ashtanga Yoga is a dynamic and disciplined practice that blends physical postures, breath control, and mental focus to create a transformative experience for both body and mind. Ashtanga Yoga is based on an ancient system of yoga outlined in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. The name “Ashtanga” means “eight limbs” in Sanskrit, referring to the eight aspects of the yogic path that guide practitioners toward self-realization and spiritual growth. The eight limbs of Ashtanga Yoga are: Yama (ethical guidelines) Niyama (personal observances) Asana (physical postures) Pranayama (breath control) Pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses) Dharana (concentration) Dhyana (meditation) Samadhi (absorption or union with the divine) At the heart of Ashtanga is the practice of asanas (physical postures), which are performed in a specific order and linked together in a fluid sequence with ujjayi breath, a slow and controlled breathing technique. The practice is designed to create internal heat, purify the body through sweat, and establish a rhythm that helps practitioners enter a meditative state. Each posture is held for a set number of breaths, and the transitions between postures are also synchronized with the breath, making the practice physically demanding, yet meditative.
